Beginning Business

Dear Guild,

Last year was a big success. We put out four publications, publishing 29 writers! Thank you again to everyone who was active in the Guild last year. It is time to start things up again! I have noticed that a few new people have joined Portal and Facebook groups so I will give a brief introduction of the Guild:

The Creative Writing Guild is recognized by SAIC Campus Life as a student group and is funded by Student Association and the Writing Program. The mission of the Creative Writing Guild is to support, promote and involve writers in the SAIC community. We meet two or three times a month to plan publications and events, share writing, talk about writing events and opportunities at SAIC and in Chicago, and sometimes we just hang out. What goes on at a meeting is completely dependent on people showing up with ideas, suggestions and topics of discussion. This group is open to ALL SAIC students and participation from alumni is also welcome.

In the latest news, numbers are a good thing and the Guild has $1000 for publications, thanks to Student Association and the Writing Program.

Last year was about figuring out a lot of odds and ends. This year is about continuing and adding to what we got going last year. Hope to see you all at our first meeting on September 21st. A reminder will be sent out as well as more information about the October Publication.
